Mike Mullen: Shredding nuclear deal ‘would be a mistake’

November 22, 2016 - 21:11

TEHRAN – U.S. President-elect Donald Trump should not dismantle Washington’s nuclear deal with Iran, former Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Mike Mullen said on Monday.

The retired Navy admiral, who headed the Joint Chiefs under presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, said the United States has seen enough wars in the Middle East, and he urged the new administration to look at the Iran agreement “very carefully,” AP reported.

“I think tearing the deal up would be a mistake,” he said.
